Here you will find information on which SiliXan product groups are particularly interesting for specific applications.

Abbreviations:

• PU= polyurethane
• EP= epoxy or epoxide

• Isocyanate-free clear coat with high abrasion and chemical resistance
• 1K-PU clear coat: formulation or additive to increase the abrasion and chemical resistance and to improve the adhesion to glass and metals
• 2K-PU clear coat: additive to improve the properties and adhesion to glass and metals
• 2K-EP systems: additive to improve the properties
• Increase of the mechanical resistance of silicone resin systems
• Melamine resin systems: improvement of resistance to chemicals
• Steel wool resistant paints and clear coats for a brush, spray or aerosol application

• Formulation of aqueous 2K-PU lacquers with improved adhesion to glass and metal as well as increased abrasion resistance
• and also aqueous 1K-PU stove enamels
• Improve of the interlayer and the base adhesion of aqueous primers on epoxy, isocyanate or melamine base
• Aliphatic, bisphenol-free raw materials for aqueous 2K-EP systems
• Reactive partner for cross-linking with melamine resins, normally at temperatures from 80 to 180°C
• Formulation of stable aqueous zinc paints with active corrosion protection
• Production of high-quality adhesives and sealants

• UV coatings for automotive, electronics and optics
• UV curable UV-protective coatings for base coats or anti-reflective coatings with a high refractive index in display applications
• High alkali resistant UV coatings for plastics and mineral substrates
• Co-binder for alkyd resins and other unsaturated reactive systems  (peroxide curing, thermal polymerisation)
• Production of high-quality adhesives and sealants

• High temperature stable coatings for temperature range between 250 and 600°C
• Tharnish protection for stainless steel as well as for anti-fingerprint application
• Increase of the fire protection as well as reduction of flammability by additive in water- or solvent-based coating systems
• Improvement of the abrasion resistance in physically drying systems as well as in baking systems (water or solvent base)
• Formulation of optical layers in 0.1 to 1 µm thickness
